WHY DID YOU START WRITING?

“After working in the consultancy business for the fashion industry for 15 years, I wanted a change in my career. At the time, my children were still young and we were buying children books to read to them.

The books we bought were entertaining, but many of them did not teach moral lessons. When we looked at books that did teach values, the drawings and storyline were not entertaining. I wanted to create entertaining books that taught values.

For busy parents it is getting harder to find time to teach our kids. So when we get to spend some family time together, reading to them is a great way to teach and share our values with them.”

WHAT’S IMPORTANT IN YOUR STORIES?

“We live in a world with other people, and children need to learn how to respect and be kind to each other. We also need to learn to take responsibility for what we do, and own up to our mistakes. When we don’t get what we want, we need to learn to be patient.

I wanted to write all of these concepts into my stories. While the rhyming is fun and helps children learn English, I believe building character with moral values is even more important.

As our children grow up, they will interact with a wide range of people in school, work, and society in general. I think as parents we should help prepare them as responsible and caring people for the world.”
